Ecofolio launches a TRY 35 million campaign for water technology venture Loopyon
The CMB-licensed Ecofolio Crowdfunding Platform has launched a new campaign with a target of TRY 35 million for Loopyon Teknoloji A.Ş., the domestic technology venture that makes water reuse possible. Loopyon’s technology returns water to the circular economy while reducing the microbiological load in agricultural production by 99.99 percent. The story was carried by TGRT Haber, turk-internet.com and Storybox among other outlets.
Ecofolio — a subsidiary of Letven Capital that exceeded its TRY 21 million target in the campaign for G&D İklimlendirme Teknolojileri, raising TRY 21.9 million at a funding rate of 105 percent — has now turned its focus to water technologies. For the new campaign the platform set a total target of TRY 42 million including a 20 percent additional funding amount, over a period of 60 days. In agriculture, which accounts for roughly 72 percent of global freshwater use, managing water efficiently, safely and sustainably is becoming ever more critical.
With its cold plasma (PAW) technology, inspired by lightning in nature, Loopyon makes water reuse possible through microbiological rehabilitation. The venture won a gold medal with this technology at the 2025 Euroinvent (European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation) fair.
“We are investing in water technologies, the guarantee of a sustainable future”
Dr. Melek Demiray, CEO of Ecofolio, said of the campaign launch: “At Ecofolio we are proud to bring another critical project to life in line with our vision of connecting investors with ventures focused on a sustainable future, green transformation and innovative technologies. Water and food security are among the areas where the climate crisis is felt most deeply. In agriculture we must manage water as a strategic asset kept in continuous circulation. Beyond protecting our country’s agricultural water resources, Loopyon is launching a world-class technology move that purifies and feeds water without chemicals and whose market potential is growing, particularly with new EU regulations.”
Taking water out of its role as a single-use input
Loopyon’s cold plasma technology brings the harmful microbiological load in irrigation water under control while preventing biofilm formation in pipelines and making drainage water suitable for reuse. Verified in field tests at Türkiye’s largest modern greenhouse facilities in Sandıklı, Afyonkarahisar, as bringing the microbiological load in irrigation water under control at a rate of 99.99 percent, the technology also removes the need for chemical disinfectants and continuous filter replacement. With the potential to raise annual production efficiency by between 5 and 15 percent, the system initially targets Türkiye’s 22 million square metres of modern soilless greenhouse market.
“We will carry technology born in Türkiye to global markets”
Faik Baykuş, founder of Loopyon, said their technology does not merely disinfect but offers integrated water management: “In agriculture, where the greater part of global freshwater resources is consumed, the traditional era of ‘take water, use it and discharge it’ is closing with our technology. With Loopyon PAW technology we put water through rehabilitation using an AI- and automation-supported system, with no need for chemical consumables or periodic filter replacement. Starting from Türkiye’s 22 million square metre modern greenhouse market, we aim to fly our flag in MENA and European markets with the capital support we obtain.”
